GI-ESCR and partners convene Chilean social organisations to have a bearing on the new Constitution

More than 100 representatives of civil society organisations working on civil and social rights attended the first meeting convened by “La Constitución es Nuestra”. The platform, created by GI-ESCR, Fundación Ciudadanía Inteligente, CONSTITU+YO, and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES, its acronym in German), seeks to foster the participation and influence of the citizens on the work of the Constituent Convention.

La Constitución es Nuestra will draw attention to and articulate citizen’s proposals in two broad issues: social rights and democracy straightening, connecting them with the work of the Convention members. Also, the digital platform will offer relevant information about the Constitution, the process of drafting a new one, the Convention and its mechanism of participation. Everything in a friendly and straightforward way.
